Cotswold Dry Stone Wall Conservation

Dry Stone wall construction requires little maintenance. A failing wall is almost always one damaged by impact, tree growth or poor weathering but if unaffected by any of these will last several lifetimes. Poor repairs will also accelerate wall failure. Bad choice of stone can easily make an attractive old wall look unappealing for many years. A like for like repair or rebuild in one of the distinctive range of Cotswold wall types, including those originally laid in lime mortar or with a particular weathering design, offers a chance to begin to restore the lost character of a property or garden and to rejuvenate its setting in the landscape.
